Brambleten

Hello! My name is Alex and I have been involved in the hobby for more than half my life now. I graduated with a degree in Accounting in 2013. During my degree I decided to write my final year dissertation on Crowdfunding, which has led to me spending more money than I would like to think about on various projects. This has led to me writing Crowdfunding Articles for Portal Magazine between 2013 and 2015

As for miniatures, it was around that time that I started to realise that there were companies other than Games Workshop that sold them. Since then I have gathered minis from at least 20 different suppliers, ranging from Ax Faction to Infamy, Knight Models to Warploque Miniatures.

Along with a whole host of stuff I have picked up just to paint, I have several Warhammer 40k armies (Soul Drinkers Marines, Dusk Raiders Marines, Astra Militarum and Grey Knights), a trio of Warhammer Fantasy armies (End Times: Nagash, High Elves and Lizardmen), Outcasts and Arcanists for Malifaux, a host of ArcWorlde warbands and 6 Guildball teams. Oh, and a large chunk of the Knight Models DC and Marvel ranges.

I used to consider myself primarily a gamer, but after not having managed to get more than a coule of games in the past 5 years or so, I don’t really think I can use that term any more. I can’t rightly call myself a painter yet, as I believe my current limit to be a good tabletop standard. That leaves the term collector, which I believe suits me perfectly – I have a very hard time passing up minis on limited runs if I can get my hands on them!

Unlike Merkeysa I have entered a number of painting contests but also unlike Notsoslimshady36, I haven’t won any yet – so far my best has been finishing second in a “large item” contest on The Ammobunker, finishing above Spikyjames, who has had various Space Marine units featured in Games Workshop publications.

So that’s me! If you want to see what I have been up to recently, click here
